Main story quest broken? [Spoilers]

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 9:38 am

To prepare for the DLC I created a new character and got about 6 hours into the main game, when I started Dragonborn I had 0 dragon souls having used all the ones I'd collected.

I've spent a few hours in Dragonborn and got to/past the part where Miraak starts to appear whenever a dragon is killed and steals its soul - meaning I have no dragon souls left (spent 'em on other words learned in the DLC), and no way to obtain them.

Now I've just completed the quest 'The Gardener of Men' and been given the final word of power for Bend Will, this has started the quest 'The Summit of Apocrypha' and the first objective is : Unlock your bend will shout. Because I have no dragon souls and no way to get any more I can't fulfil that quest objective, and therefore go any further in the main quest.

I've spent about an hour trying to find a way around it etc, but it's looking like I'm going to have to start another new file :(. Anyone else ran into this and (hopefully) found a fix?

Realised after I posted it, but wrote spoilers in the name anyway so hopefully someone will notice and move it.

No s**t sherlock.

Nice. You live you learn. Reload a save or start over and make sure you have a soul next time.

Just keep hunting dragons in Skyrim

Whenever I kill a dragon Miraak appears and steals its soul, even if I'm back in Skyrim. Tried it already :(

He will not always steal the souls. I'm sorry to say that you're just going to have to keep dragon hunting.

I don't have the DLC yet and haven't read much about it, so this might sound stupid, but there's no way of going back to

the mainland and getting some souls?

I'm on 7 stolen in a row now - thought them being stolen was a... thing... until the end of the main story. If not I'll keep trying!

Yeah but... as above he follows me
