Glitch with Lost Legacy

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 7:22 pm

I have made my way through the main questline and I am now "cleaning up" anything I missed. Lost Legacy was in my quest log and of course houses the walls needed for the battle fury shout. I have made my way completely through Vahloks Tomb, gotten all the words and any loot I wanted. The problem is that I cannot leave! everytime I try to exit back into Solstheim I get stuck in a infinte loading screen, no matter how long I wait I am just stuck there. This post is to alert others and ask if anyone has found a work around, I have not been able to play Skyrim for two days because I am stuck in this stupid area.

If you have a saved game prior to starting this quest, you could revert back and try the quest again. I know it's a pain, but sometimes it will clear these type of issue up. Also, the steps posted on this page have been helpful to some players with similar problems: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1426775-starting-dragonborn/ (third post down, labeled "clearing the system cache")

Thanks for the reply, sadly that did not work :/ I guess I'll just have to wait until a patch is released. Atleast I got to play the main story, I had to wait until the third patch for NV before it would let me out of the first town :meh:

Are you sure you did the cache cleaning and reinstall correctly? Clear the system cache on all storage devices, delete the patch, all Skyrim DLC and game if it is installed and then reinstall the game, download the patch and download all the DLC again. It worked for me when I got stuck in there with an endless loading screen, also cleared up a lot of other problems. They will not be releasing a patch, so you are going to have to get out of there yourself.

Also make sure all autosaving options are disabled if all that was not enough to get out.

And reverting back to an earlier save would at least let you continue playing the game.

*Sigh* well I am now convinced that for me at-least this dungeon is unplayable, I gave myself these past couple days to try everything. I followed all the steps listed above haven't had any auto save options on since I first found out that would help stabilize the game sicne Janurary. I have reverted to a previous save and I am able to enter and leave everywhere in this game, I did take notice though that clearing the cache and deleting everything seemed to be a temporary fix. The frame drops and slightly longer loads began again after roughly two days, I did it again and this time lowered my difficulty all the way down and powered through the dungeon in like five minutes but still could not leave.

I guess I am not supposed to have battle fury... which is probably for the best because I do not use followers.

I also read that sometimes if you don't have enough space on your xbox hard drive that it can cause major performance problems. Somebody posted recently that Skyrim relies heavily on the xbox cache which performs better the more free space you have on your drive, although I would imagine that you have thought of this already. You probably have tried this, but sometimes deleting the title update from your xbox hard drive or storage device, clearing the cache and then letting the patch re-install when the game loads up again helps. Amazingly, I've been lucky enough not experience any major issues even though I have a really old xbox, but it's really a shame that so many people are experiencing these issues.

I never knew that, I am not sure if that really matters much I still havwe 115GB left on my 250. Yea the thread I saw said to clear the cache and delete the title update, its not really that big a deal at-least now I can play the aftermath DLC for BF3... seriously between this Farcry 3, and Battlefield 3 all releasing things on the same day I was over whelmed
