DragonFREEZEborn

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 6:31 pm

I am really disappointed with this DLC, I love it and I hate it! Since I download Dragonborn I experienced a lot of freeze and it is unplayable.
i cancelled all dlc, patches and reinstalled all but nothing changed...every time I reach Raven Rock it freezes. When I enter or exit from dungeon I have to pray it works...
I read a lot of players have the same problem, I hope Bethesda will solve it with a patch.

I'm getting a lot of freezing up and crashes since I installed Dragonborn. I have deleted it and cache and re-installed but with the same issues.
And ya, I get the dead empty vibrating dragons dropping on my head also.

Edit: I noticed this during the Dawnguard DLC but my character has not levelled at all. I'm at level 54, midway to 55. Progress bar hasn't moved since I installed Dawnguard.

I've had a few more freezes than usual and a never ending load sequence after installation. The real concern is how much more the console can take after so many hard reboots.

I can agree with all of this the next patch should fix the freezes that the dlc causes and hopefully they will but more than likely no until the dlc is released on pc and ps3.

Since downloading Dragonborn, I have had freezes, crashes, lags, and hard crashes where I have had to up-plug the XBox itself and restart the Xbox. It has been found out that the autosaves are causing three fourth's of the problems. I have turned off ALL my autosaves, and just do hard saves very, very often, and every hour or so, I go to the dashboard and clear the cache. It was also recommended that I keep fewer saves on the hard drive, and keep them down to about 6 because the extra saves take up memory. Since I have been doing this, I have had no more freezes, no more hard crashes or crashes of any kind, and only a minor lag here and there.

I have done everything you mentioned except turn off autosaves because I have had no problem with autosaves causing the game to go slow but I guess it could be the cause of infinite loading screens and crashes.

So how do you turn these autosaves off? I only mess with settings for changing the difficulty.

The tech told me that after you start the game, you go into the options, and gameplay, and that is where they are. There are 3 of them.

There are four autosave options, the fourth, autosave on entering menu you change the timer to say disabled.

Thank you again for the correction. My bad. I forgot about that one. Thanks again.

iv noticed a butt-load of lag and freezeing within solsteim also, its like im playing an online game with dial-up... iv crashed 6 times in six hours of gameplay today. worst occurances are outside while exploring/fighting. inside burrows/ruins alot less lag. back on mainland skyrim has little lag but have noticed more freezes since installing DB.

This. I did the same and problems stopped. I have been playing this way ever since DG was released. I will have a freeze every once in a great while on loading screens, had a couple since installing DB but that has been a problem ever since i first started playing Skyrim.
Just make sure you save OFTEN, it svcks getting killed or actually having a freeze and realizing you have not saved for an hour.

This makes sense to me. Were I to guess, Bethesda didnt initially plan to release the Xbox version early, but executive meddling resulted in that happening. As a result, the people who got it early are dealing with bugs that would have been fixed by the planned release.

Basically, as soon as they release the PC version, you'll likely get a patch out of nowhere that fixes the issue and several others.

I have also experienced hard freezing (restart the xbox) several times in Solstheim. Oddly enough I have had it freeze at least three times when I am approaching my house in Raven Rock.

From what people have been saying, apparently it can glitch at a cell boundary there. One reported way to reduce the trouble is maybe to let any ongoing overheard conversations in RR finish before crossing over.

You can just approach the house any way but via the path to avoid it freezing in front of Severin Manor, I am always in a hurry and quickly got tired of sneaking or casually strolling up to the Manor trying to avoid trouble. I just run across the rocks now. It was a bit woeful they released the DLC with that glitch, maybe they better get a new QA team.

Same here, except turning off autosaves did not do a thing, and i would forget to save... *has shelved the game since then*

I spend a large amount of time replaying parts of the game because I forget to save, practice makes perfect I suppose.

If turning off all the autosave options is not enough to prevent freezing, you would have to follow the official solution to get your game working better. Clearing the system cache, uninstalling the game if it is installed, patch and DLC and then reinstalling the game, patch and DLC. A fresh install will solve most problems for a while.

It will not solve the glitch with approaching Severin Manor though, since that one seems to be an actual glitch, either that or it need the game to be running a lot better than it does for most of my characters.
