Can I get every perk on the console?

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 12:17 am

I just found out that you can only get 80 perks and there are around 250 available in the game. This makes me not even want to play any more because my goal on every Elder Scrolls character is to do and max out everything and I've already spent tons of perks on "silly" skills.

I don't care if it's an exploit, glitch or cheat, is there a way to get around this?

No, there is not.

Think of perks like something you have to carefully select. The point of TES games isn't to "max out and beat everything". Perhaps try making more than one character? Roleplay them, give them limits (why would your good mage want to be in the Dark Brotherhood for example). I think you'll find it much better and more fulfilling to play.

I do roleplay. My character is always a poor theif who needs to steal and kill and sneak past any threats he can't directly engage. Eventually he becomes a bloodthirsty greedy warrior when he is wealthy and powerful enough to easily face his threats. Finally he is enlightened by morality and decides to practice magic in his old age.

I know it's not typical to play that way, but I know I would not enjoy sticking to a single role and just beating a few quests then starting over.

Anyhow, I guess it's off to a different game unless I ever feel like starting a new character.

Yeah, the perk system isn't based around that. TES has always had fixed classes and major/minor skills. Skyrim doesn't have this, allowing greater freedom in character development, but the idea is that you will settle on a certain build by mid-game. The flexibility of the lack of classes and birthsigns early in game allows you to mess around and play with different styles at the start. You can't effectively be a jack of all trades throughout the game however.

Well, that's unfortunate. It felt like each Elder Scrolls game was inching it's way towards allowing more freedom, then I get hit with this block halfway through a character when I have the perk that helps to pick novice locks. I can't believe they would so brutally smack down those of us who wish to make a jack of all trades lol.
