It breaks my Heart ... stone ...

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 11:33 pm

First i kill General Falx Carius , reanimated with a heartstone . Next , Ildari Sarothril , whos heartstone i rip from her chest . the Briarheart Necropsy quest ... I thought for sure I would eventually be able to reanimate followers or something that was so much more than simply recieving a few new , and underwelming , summoning spells .

If Iam missing something here , please tell me . It just seems so unfinished and a huge missed opportunity .
ps. would have been so cool if by method , science and magic , you could reanimate or improve subjects as is impliede in the quests .

Killing carius was the most difficult thing i have ever done in skyrim, it burns you inside when you learn of the sad fate of this once beautiful province, guards of frostmoth turned to ash spawn, silt striders all but extinct. This may be the most fun DLC but it is also the most heart breaking.

I felt pretty much the same. Could care less for the island and it's former inhabitants, but the Silt Striders seem kinda neat.

I was more disappointed that the heart stones only had one purpose.

you can use them for summoning obedient ash guardians, and for enchanting staffs... dont think there are other uses.

I have not played much with the heart stones. Besides the obedient ash guardians, I don't use them. They look cool but wish they were more functional. The idea of bringing back a fallen follower would be awesome. They already add their remains to the crypts in their home towns.

I would want Lydia back. She died far too young.

I'd like to bring her back too.
So I can kill her again.

Is it possible that leaving a Heartstone on a corpse and reanimating it would have some kind of effect?

I find it rather amusing that the one who would suggest this has "necro" in their name.

how long does an ash guardian last? the effects just says they guard an area till they die (if controlled with a heart stone )
that sounds very useful, if they actually last till they die

They stay in the same place, despawn when you leave the cell, but don't cost a summon, thus allowing for three summons.

Ressurecting NPCs could be a blessing for console players- no more complaining of vampire-attacks or frenzied companions anymore.

They don't despawn immediately though. I placed one outside Lakeview, fast traveled somewhere, came back and it was still guarding. Unless that was a bug....

Weird. It despawned immediately after I fast traveled.

Well, I think the point was that Heart Stones are...less than ideal for resurrecting the dead...
It left Carius apparently unstable and thinking he was still amongst soldiers...And Ildari was hearing voices from the ashes...

Lydia has enough trouble as is, I don't need her going crazy on me.

Try being an Otaku/Brony like me. You know how often I have to correct myself when I say "everpony" instead of "everybody"?

And Lydia always seemed more Tsundere to me.
