so on my blade character, after completing db, i went to the throat of the world, since i killed parthanax, odahviing circles the peak, so i went up next to the ore veins and hit him with bend will and he lands and is rideable!!! so cool!! not that strong at 81. also loaded another save and cant bend parthanaxs will. anyone know why some of my characters can bend the will of legendary dragons and others can not?

It's not your different characters.
It's the particular dragons.

Of the unique dragons, these are the ones known so far that you cannot ride:
Alduin, Durnehvir, Paarthurnax, Sahloknir, and the Skeletal Dragon in Labrynthian.

If there are others we'll find them once DB is released for pc.

no, what i meant was... my mage vampire character that has mage perks can tame a legendary dragon and ride it, while my two handed warrior wherewolf character can only tame up to a blood dragon, any higher level of dragon, and i get a dragon resist voice message. i was wondering if its perk related, or a glitch or what? i thought it would be impossible to tame odahviing because of the shout timer, but u dont have to use call dragon as he circles the throat of the world. i cant belive it works with him

I believe the resistance may be random.

i dont think so, because my mage that can tame and ride legendary dragons has never had a dragon resist her voice, if it was random, it would have happened to her. where as my other character who cannot tame and ride anything higher than a blood dragon, always resist any dragon stronger than blood dragon, and sometimes resist regular dragons.

Well, the only perks I could think of that would apply would be in the illusion tree.

if it helps my nord has no perks In illusion and can tame all dragon types didnt realise there was a restriction maybe it's a bug

I dont use any magic, and I can tame Revered(highest [censored] one ive seen yet)
Its prob not perk related, but aim.
Sometimes I completely miss them.

If theyre not level 78 then they shouldnt be appearing?

Do you have all three/ using all three words of bend will on the second character?
Also the shout also doesnt work on the Forgoteen Vale dragons.

Hmmm. Donno why you can't ride legendaries. My archer character has no mage perks besides enchanting and can ride legendary dragons. As can my mage, who doesn't have any illusion perks and only a bit of resto to get necromage. Also, to get oda off of the throat, maybe dragon aspect+amulet of talos+blessing of talos. Cool down should be pretty quick
