Will Kids Adopt a Dwarven Sphere?

If I bring a Steadfast Dwarven Sphere to my adopted children, can they keep it as a pet? How about a Riekling? Has anyone tried it?

I want an Iron Giant to keep Meeko company.

DO NOT BRING THE SPHERE HOME! The kids go supper glitchy if you bring one home. You will literally be forced to run for your life (well, at least fast travel the crap out of there.)

Sadly, not only does it seem they won't, but they seem to sometimes "bug out" if you have the Sphere as a follower. They constantly force greet you, like they do when giving a gift, asking for an allowance, wanting to play, etc... Except it's normal dialog. "Did you need something, papa?" and the like. And I do mean CONSTANTLY.... :ermm:

Haven't tried a Reikling yet.
