Frost giant summon...

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 3:53 pm

If you havent done this unmarked quest, you fight a frost giant spirit and get to summon him only 3 times.
I think he needs a raise or it to be something that can be limited to a point, ex 1 a week or so.
Thoughts?

Yeah, because if its limited uses, I will most likely end up not using it at all. I'll always be saving him for an emergency that will never come.

Even so, having a limitless number if Karstaags available (even restricted to once a week) would be obscenely over powered.

As opposed to having Odaahving and Durhneviir with you at the same time, which is feasable ( on xbox obivously on pc it doesnt matter) now with 60% less shout recharge when you have an Amulet of Talos, Shrine of Talos blessing and Dragon Aspect shout? I think it should be limited by time but honestly I cant say I will use it all even if it was the case.

this
his absurd power pretty much requires a limited finite number of summons
i tested him out on alduin in the vanilla mq's final fight
alduin might as well have been a garden lizard going up against the death star
a summon that strong isnt really needed
by this point in the game, most are practically gods in human form anyways

It SAYS that it does nothing but it does lessen recharge time by 20% as intended.

We are already over powered. I agree with you there. But who are the only two enemies in the game that level 81 people claim to have trouble defeating? Ebony Warrior and Karstaag. Having Karstaag in your back pocket to summon whenever you need him could get you through any situation the game can throw at you, with no trouble at all. The dragons we can summon don't even hold a candle to what Karstaag is capable of.

I had no problem to be honest on level 81 on master, only annoying thing was he knocked me through the doorway causing me to enter the cave place with the reiklings and when I vame back i had to re-activate the throne and he was back to full health. :ermm:

Don't care about "overpowered", it's something that could be fun. Summon him, let him go nuts, lulz ensue.

Me neither, but there are loads of threads full of people who would disagree.

PS That's actually a pretty cool story, I didn't know that he could hit you through doors.

If you want want lulz, try using him during the battles in the Civil War questline. Extremely fun. Also, use Dragonrend to down a Legendary dragon and make them fight. Karstaag always wins but it's very intertaining. I am waiting on my next playthrough to get him before killing the Ebony Warrior so I can make them fight.

Any door that just has to be walked through yeah you can be knocked/fus ro dah'd / staggered into it. There is actually some mini quest in vanilla skyrim where you have to help an elf chick escape a cave but she wont actually leave so in order to finish it you must apply a dose of Fus Ro Dah to 'convince her'.
