So is this how the Thalmor will lose?

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 7:27 am

As everyone knows, at the end of the DB MQ you get the full Bend Will shout which allows you to get a dragon to essentially be your minion. Seeing as how the Shivering Isles dlc was implied to be canon seeing as how there are hints that Sheogorath is actually the CoC, does this mean that the Dragonborn will canonically have a dragon army which they can use to crush the Thalmor? I guess so.

I have thought about a huge battle near the imperial city, dragons on both sides with you riding odaahving to battle maybe doing the ole jumping onto another dragon killing it then falling, odaahbing coming up below you to 'catch' you,- thing.

the shout lets you control a single dragon to ride
it even becomes hostile after dismount if it was hostile to begin with (for me at least)
not sure how that equals a dragon army
doesnt matter if miraak had more than 1 dragon following him, doesnt mean our shout can do it
he couldve just had them as allies instead of being controlled, or mora could have aided him in keeping them in check
always remember that just cause some npc can do it, doesnt mean we can since the situation makes all the difference
miraak had that nifty tentacle teleport ability, but we dont and cant get it
just how it works

so no i dont think thats how the thalmor go out
i do think they will get defeated by the dovahkiin in a dlc, or the next tes games hero though

Not all dragons are hostile to the Dovahkiin. Thats why you get those 'pass overs' random encounters.

Tiber Septim was said to have tamed Dragons and used them in battle, and was shown to do so in Redguard. Why wouldn't he do so in his new body?

I think that is possible, but I have a feeling that the Thalmor will be dealt with after the Dragonborn have "mysteriously" disappeared.

I thought Paarthuax (spelling) promises you that he'll teach other dovahs to be more friendly towards you for your own benefits like the DLC towards defeating the Thalmor in 1.5/4 of Cryrodill. It's an option of course to go with the Imperial Army/Stormcloaks ready to take on the Thalmor.

EDIT:Assuming you let him live of course...

Finally, someone who knows that not all of us have a single character we play with.

In related news, there's also the fact that I can only Bend the Will of one at a time. Not exactly an army. The shout also breaks after I land sometimes, so they go right back to being hostile.

...thats not how dragonborns work
it isnt like the nerevarine where the character is actually supposed to be a reincarnation of nerevar
dragonborns are just mortals that akatosh gave an immortal dragon soul to
they are each their own soul unless stated otherwise
ours is special, being the one destined to kill alduin, but that doesnt make us talos incarnate (unless you rp that, in that case go crazy)

I'm actually referring to the interplay between the MQ, the Civil War and the http://www.imperial-library.info/content/arcturian-heresy-0 rather than his nature as Dragonborn in itself. The tl;dr version is that Ulfric, the Dragonborn and Tullius fulfill the same mythic function as Arctus, Hjalti (Tiber Septim the Man) and Wulfarth who are as one unit Talos the God, therefore being Talos on the mythic level. Which is a secondary irony and a much more comprehensive defeat of the Thalmor's central ideology than even laying waste to Summerset with dragonfire would be.

Yes

YES! :woot: YES!

I really really hope so! With luck the canon will read

"...and the mysterious dragonborn bent the will of an ancient dragon and charbroiled every last thalmor in skyrim. He then chased them across the boarder and invaded their home [where ever that is] with an army of dragons and set it aflame. The fire is still burning 100 years later."

 ...happy endings.

note: nothing against the high elves, I just hate the thalmor.
