Opt in or out of Skyrim Beta

Post » Tue Feb 05, 2013 2:13 pm

Hello everybody.

How do I make sure I get Beta updates for Skyrim?

I chose Skyrim in steam and clicked on "properties". Then I chose "Beta", and I have 3 choices: "Opt out of all Beta programs", "DLCBeta" or "DLCBeta02"

What do the choices really mean? And do I have to be careful when i choose to participate in Beta?

Thanks in advance

If you don't know, then don't mess with it. Open betas are announced on Beth Blog with instructions.

I see. But when the first beta came out with kill-cams and horse-riding(before DG) I accepted beta. Does that choice still count?

Edit: problem is, I dont remember what I did

No. You need to opt in to each beta.

Right now, there is no active open beta going on. Those may show up, but I don't believe you can do anything with them.

Ok, thanks for the answers.

A totally different issue:
A couple of minutes ago I clicked on the "Verify integrity of the game cache"-button, and there seemed to be something wrong with "5 game files". Then it automatically started to sync. I hope I didnt do anything wrong. The game files are still syncing.

That means some of the base files didn't match the base files as they come out of the box on a clean installation. If you've edited Update.esm, for instance, all your edits are undone.
