On the quest "Blood On The Ice" there is a sub-objective to "Get Assistance From Jorleif". Through out the gameplay there is no possible way for me to make such dialogue with him or to complete this sub-objective; even if the quest is complete (The Marker Does Not Fill).

Please, please, please! Does someone have a solution for this? I'm playing this on "XBOX 360" and this is my fifth game starting from fresh.

Any particular steps I need to take in order to finish this quest marked as fully complete?

(It's been over a year and I cannot believe that this quest's glitch still hasn't been fixed!)

Just follow the blood trail activating the quest to have access to the house.

Don't do this until the right time, or the quest can break. STAY AWAY from Hjerim until directed there by the guard.

The UESP outlines the proper way to complete the quest. Sadly, any deviation (even not clicking on all the investigation targets) causes glitches. If you are set on completing this quest completely, I strongly suggest saving beforehand, and often throughout the quest stages, with MULTIPLE save files.

I've done all that, all of it in all different orders. The only thing that's bugging me is that "Get Assistance From Jorleif" not marked as complete. How do I get that marked as complete?

Dude let's say you try to start/finish this quest on 10 characters.

11 characters will be unable to start/finish the quest.

The most bugged quest in all of Tamriel.

I don't think there's any way to "get assistance" from him. It's possible that it only checks off if you go to him with the information about the suspect instead of going to said suspect directly. (Although this does result in an additional murder victim.)

It's worse for me, I've only done it once because all my RP's are as an Imperial who considers going to Windhelm a death sentence.

Like someone else said, following the blood trail might fix it.

Lets just all agree that the best vanilla house is in the worst city, and is affected by the most glitched quest.

This quest is 10 pounds of bugs in a 5 pound bag.

It's one thing for Bethesda not to fix small bugs, but not fixing something like this is ri-[censored]-diculous.

100% Agree! It's been "OVER A YEAR" and this quest still hasn't been fixed! Yet they say look what we put on the table for you; new quests, new DLC's, new gear, etc...

FIX THE GLITCHES FIRST!!!

It is very much possible to do this quest without ever experiencing a glitch and I havent had any in at least half a year and dozens of playthroughs.
Simply do the quest straight out of Helgen and follow the proper order in which to complete it as detailed on the UESP.

Start another fresh game? No thanks.

You havent experienced any bugs yet in this quest, as far as Ive read, so you shouldnt have to.
Just know this for next playthrough.
