Skyrim Disc getting scratched..

Post » Wed Feb 06, 2013 6:20 pm

I know this is a question better asked on the Microsoft Xbox forums and I have asked it, They tell me it is just wear and tear on the disc from hours on end of gameplay.
Since i know most Skyrim folks also play for long hours do any of you experience scratching on your Skyrim disc? There is no question it is happening INSIDE the Xbox and it is getting worse as time goes on, my disc right now looks like a chicken attacked it..
The Xbox is not even a year old. I bought Skyrim when i bought the Xbox, i guess about 9 months ago.

Will an Xbox start scratching disc after hours and hours of gameplay, is this normal?

Sorry to the mods if this question does not fit these forums.. i just have to know for sure.

Btw, As far as I know I am not having any gameplay problems due to these scratches. The only issues i have are the known bugs everyone talks about in game. The scratching is just beginning to worry me. Also, I only play Skyrim so I cannot tell you if it happens with other disc.

The only scratches normally caused by the Xbox would be in a perfect circle in one section of the disc. Usually from that part of the disc getting read a lot, I think. (I always assumed it was the music)
Shouldn't look anything like chicken scratches. Since the disc spins, I don't see how any scratch not circular could be from the Xbox.

Thanks, I am aware of the circular pattern scratching that occurs and i have those. But, there are also little scratches mostly along the edges which look like, pardon me for saying this but it is the best way to describe it, pubic hairs... irregular, random and curved. It must be happening inside the Xbox because i rarely take the disc out.

Oh well, im not going to worry about it i guess unless i actually start noticing problems as a result.

Thanks again.

I have used the DR.X dvd lense cleaner disc in it a few times but didn't solve it, have noticed new scratches since.
