Evening, ladies and gentlemen. I decided to delete Hearthfire off my HDD and reinstall to allow me to re-build a house, given that there's not an option to start over. I did what was supposedly necessary, deleting HF off my hard drive, going into the game (with only my Dragonborn DLC installed), saving a new save, then redownloading. However, no signs of HF are present in my current game; shops do not sell materials, no letters are given, no adoptable children. I've tried going to Solstheim and saving, then back to Skyrim, uninstalling and re-downloading many times, so on so forth.

Does anyone have any fixes? So far the only fix for this I've seen is uninstalling /all/ of Skyrim and then re-doing it all from scratch; and I really do not want to do that, I doubt anyone does. Any help is appreciated guys, thank you.

Aha, never mind. I dashboarded and restarted my game, and it seemed to fix it. I have no idea why exiting the game makes any difference from just reloading a save, but apparently it does.
