This was/is my first mod for Skyrim, and one I've been using for quite some time. It just had not occurred to me until now to ever share it outside just putting it up on the Steam Workshop. So here it is.
When I first played Skyrim, some of the Dragon Shouts sounded absolutely badass; like Disarm for example. Of course anyone who has actually played the game can testify that a good portion of the shouts absolutely svck or aren't worth anything. So I set out and re-balanced some of the less powerful shouts to be more useful, and slightly adjusted some of the other shouts. The result is that there are more useful shouts now, and a couple behave a bit differently from before. While the shouts are certainly more useful/powerful now, they are nowhere near "cheat" powerful - I took care to balance them out so you'll still have to be careful and tactical with them; especially Dragonrend and Disarm.
Here are the currently affected shouts:
Aura Whisper
Disarm
Dragonrend
Frost Breath
Fire Breath
Become Etheral
Dismaying Shout
Marked for Death
Slow Time
The Workshop is currently the only available version right now. If you want it on the Nexus, well......you'll have to tell me how to do that.
Questions
Q: What exactly is different?
A: Not a whole lot, except in the case of Dragonrend. I simply modified the force/magnitude/cool-down timers for the Shout spells to make some more useful. Dragonrend had the same changes, but it is nowhere near as spammable as before - but a hit with it keeps the dragon down for much longer now.
Q: What does it conflict with?
A: Not a whole lot really. Any changes this mod makes will be overridden by later-loading mods that change the same things, though it might mess up an effect if you use a mod that changes the Dragon Shouts actual ability.
Q: Do I need DLC?
A: No. I didn't change of the DLC shouts - for the most part they serve their purpose, or are already eclipsed by other skills that wouldn't matter if I changed the shouts.
