I've been working on a quest for days now with help from you guys and it has all tied nicely together from beginning to end. I coc-ed into the world just outside the interior cell where NPC was waiting to give quest. Used Start Game Enabled and updated SEQ file everytine quest was modified. So today I start the entire mod from the beginning, modifying/changing dialouge to match the other quests and storyline that has been evolving. All went well until I got to the place where I was previously coc-ing into to test this specific "was working" quest. BTW I had generated a new SEQ using TES5Edit before embarking on the mod. I entered the interior cell and there was the NPC as he always had been during testing. But no dialogue to start the quest appears. This quest is standalone and doesn't depend on any other quest. Ok, I quit and went back into coc-ing into the game - still no dialogue to start the quest. Desperation made me put a trigger box around NPC's house with a StartQuest script and a debug.notification telling me "Trigger has fired" and it did fire, which I have been using to start other localized quests successfully, unticked the Start Game Enabled box, made a new SEQ - no joy, no dialogue.
Absolutely confused. HELP!
