Shot friendly NPC - but they won't die.

I was working on the quest: Kill the dragon at Lost Tongue Overlook today, when I saw an NPC walking down a nearby path. I'd just been attacked by an assassin so naturally I thought this person was an enemy as well, so I shot them with an arrow and a battle ensued. I noticed she had a name - I think it was Ria or Dia, something like that. She was a human female. So we fought to the death and all of her health bar was gone, then she would just pop back up with full health and start attacking me again. That's when I thought she must be an important plot NPC and I wasn't supposed to attack her in the first place.

The whole thing was crazy. Does anyone know who I'm describing here, and has this happened to you?

Thanks, G

This may be her --&--#62; http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Ria

She might have taken a potion or something
Or it could just be a bug

Why do you think she was outside Riften, Res? Also thanks Bad Luck for your input. :)

Why do you think she was outside Riften,

As it says on the linked page, Ria, as with other Companions, can be found around Skyrim killing wild animals.

Around Riften, I see them occasionally in the area to the east of the stables

So have I, although I've seen them most often in the Rift. Which is no surprise: you can't take 3 steps in the Rift without tripping over a damn bear!
