I didn't do any main quest until I was pretty high up in levels. Now, I'm fighting right to ancient dragons. They basically one shot me with their breath. I'm a Wood Elf that has light armor and am working on my enchanting/alchemy. I have Dragonbone armor and svck at defending against that ice spike spell as well.
