"REDGUARD" Next DLC for Skyrim?

Post » Sat Feb 16, 2013 5:42 am

I found an article about possible new Skyrim DLC. Click http://www.idigitaltimes.com/articles/15364/20130213/next-skyrim-dlc-redguard-release-date-2013.htm for more info. What are everyone's thoughts on this??

Speculations for everyone! No one but Bethesda knows anything at this point.

I got absolutely nothing from reading that article. Basically that article is going off complete speculation that the next DLC will be called "Redguard", as there is no kind of evidence supporting that fact. Its not even citing an anonymous leak, its just pure speculation.

The article says the same thing over and over again, and basically says nothing useful.

If I had to give odds, I'd say 3-2 the next DLC is:
* Called "Redguard"
* Set in eastern Hammerfell
* Probably features a couple of towns, Dragonstar being one.

Evidence: Bethesda locked down "Hearthfire" before announcing Hearthfire and "Dragonborn" before announcing Dragonborn. Now they've locked down "Redguard".

I think "Dragonstar" would have been a cooler name, but cest la' vie. Maybe they thought it too similar to "Dragonborn".

http://www.ibtimes.com/skyrim-dlc-release-after-dragonborn-could-be-redguard-zenimax-files-patent-downloadable-computer is another article. Sounds like Bethesda bought the rights to the name Redguard. I can't wait for another DLC!!

It'd be nice. But I highly doubt it.

Expect the worse, hope for the best.

Why would we expect the worse?

There was also a previous game called Redguard in the series that many people miss.

They've had the rights to that since the release of The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguards that came out more than ten years ago.

If we can't go to Elsweyr, I think Hammerfell would be pretty cool.

I wouldn't mind it, as long as it doesn't screw up the vanilla game as badly as Dawnguard did. Who knows, maybe we'll finally find out if Saadia is telling the truth or not.

Last month, Bethesda’s parent ZeniMax Media Inc. filed to trademark the term Redguard, according to http://www.oxm.co.uk/49108/features/skyrim-dlc-redguard-predictions-dragonstar-hammerfell-and-the-isle-of-stros-mkai/#null. While there has been no official confirmation that new Skyrim DLC is in development, the trademark ownership applies to “downloadable software offered via the Internet and wireless devices.”

They trademarked the name in March 2011. Note that every DLC so far was trademarked 3-4 months before its release - why would they trademark the fourth DLC over two years before releasing it? Also note that this was actually a renewal of an earlier trademark, filed in 2007. There was also an even earlier one, but with a different description. Draw your own conclusions.

My guess: they've been renewing the trademark for TES Adventures: Redguard. Hopefully because they're going to develop a remake *pure wishful thinking*

Since she is a noble it might set the the main questline.

That's The Elder Scrolls Travels (mobile games) and there were four: Stormhold, Dawnstar, Shadowkey and Oblivion.
