I don't have DB DLC yet but have heard that you get the option of resetting your stats, is this true?

Yup this is true and once you get the option you can revisit it and redistribute your skill points over and over again once you know how to get back there (which is not hard, at all ) so dont worry resetting perks is wonderfully easy!
