Unpropbably list of desires.

Here's my list of things I'd like to see in ESO, but probably won't.

The ability to just walk into a dungeon and join in on the combat without organized, formal groups. I'd heard somewhere previously that loot was individual due to the "anyone can use anything" theme they'd wanted to keep from other Elder Scrolls games, and that if you'd participated in combat, you get loot off the creatures killed.

Not sure how that would work with instanced dungeons, but I'd still like to see it. I'd also like to see that happen to raid content. There is no reason we need yet another game that requires one to join an organized group to kill dragons and organize dungeon crawls.

No strong influence on formal guilds as they tend to be in other games. If the rumor of being able to join multiple guilds is true, then there is no reason to focus on them, when that defeats the point of them.

No crafting components that require a raid group to obtain.

Slower leveling. More focus on the journey, not the destination. We don't need another game exclusively focused on the endgame. With how Cyrodiil's PvP scales your character, this should be completely possible to do. Don't need to rush to endgame when you have half a shot at PvP at lower levels.

Skill > gear in any and all circumstances. If I want to participate in a boss battle naked, if I'm good enough, I should be able to. There should never be the ability to outgear content.

Don't get me wrong. I have no problems making friends. I have plenty of them. I just have no desire to join a guild full of people I probably won't like(most of my friends do not pursue more difficult content) just to do content more appropriate to my skill set. I should be able to jump in and kill things. I have no desire to play a class I dislike just so I have a shot at getting in pickup groups. I see people, I should be able to help kill what they're killing without the formalities of grouping.

It sound rude, but I do not:

Have a desire to form formal relationships with everyone in game to get something accomplished
Want yet another game focused exclusively on endgame, where everything is rushed through and then full of whines that there's nothing to do
Want to have no other choice but to hang out with people I don't like on a regular basis to do what I want to do in the game.

I'd be in favor of having any and all instanced content scaled like Cyrodill is supposedly, so that it doesn't matter what your gear/level is, you're all on mostly equal footing. You want bragging rights, go PvP with the leaderboards.

I'll probably get flamed for this but eh. I grow weary of games that essentially force you to rely on a static group to get anything done. I'm a freelancer. I prefer to keep it that way.

The only thing I agree with is slower leveling.

I'm conflicted on the skill&--#62;gear argument, as in most cases you work for your gear. If you have more skill, you get better gear faster, and can put your skill to greater use. At the same time, if you're going up against those who already have great gear, your options are limited, and you have a slow start in order to get to where everyone else is.

I want gear to actually be worth getting, for there to be a reward for my efforts, and I think that's worth sacrificing over having skill diminished in favor of gear. Players will skill still should be able to make an impact, but if there's no point in doing endgame content other than for fun, then the content better be really freaking fun and not repetitive.

Where did they come from? Was it magic?... that's horrible logic. I know what you mean, but you should be a little more specific.

Generally I agree on most of the listed things. I really doubt we will see most of this though. MMO's after eq but mainly wow, have focused on a gear treadmill for end game. The days of open sandbox design and such seem to be almost gone. I really hope some of the things you listed do happen. The only problem is it's easier for developers to design around a treadmill design. Especially when wow has trained so many on it. Of course that's just my person opinion.

I see them going more the wow route:
Raids needed for end game progression.
Raid content drops needed for end game crafting.
Gear>Skill.
And every dungeon/raid that gives better quality loot will be instanced. While public dungeons will probably be lesser in quality ones.

I really hope that won't be the case, but I'm preparing for the worst, hoping for the best. Here's hoping Teso proves me wrong, and resparks the things that made me fall in love with mmo's back in 1999 and 2000! :)

There is no reason we need yet another game that requires one to join an organized group (...)

But of course there is! And a very simple reason it is... That is what MMORPG is all about.

I'm not against anything you've asked for, but is looks like you want ESO to be very casual.

I don't care if ESO is casual friendly or not, as long as the game has longevity.
