The 'popularity' of making games for the 'brat' gamer...

No thinking required, EVERYBODY can and will play it, mondo money in the bank, so it's all right, yes?
WRONG.
Probably much too late by now, but I pray that TESO takes its cues from daggerfall and morrowind with regards to how easy it will be to work things out and suceed in the gameworld.
Detailed quest descriptions, properly defining(depending on various pc-npc social factors) where to go, how to get there and what to do once there.
The Elder Scrolls is not for the gamer that can't be bothered to use their brains. At least they did not use to be.

All for questmarkers....but only on the compass. nothing on the map we have not explored on our own. we want to find something, lets ask the npc's and get directions. You know, like you would in any half-decent -actual- RPG.

As for the economy, I'm aware that will have to be simplified what with the whole 'multitude of dragonborn'-disease...but I wish things could be made to cost what they'd actually be worth.

Also, reputations. consequences of same. friendly with one faction? their enemies are probably not gonna like you much...once they know which camp you belong to. And please let it extend to those little bands of robbermen we'll no doubt have to deal with wandering the roads. Once we've gained a degree of skill and equipment to warrant a little respect, nevermind slaughtered a few hundreds of their fellows, I dare hope we'll finally see that most rare of mobs...ones that see you, and run away....-without- turning around to attack again like brainless lemmings.

I'm reminded of trying to find Louis Letrush after I got Frost. The quest says "I'll be nearby outside the city waiting for you" - he was approximately a hundred yards away from the guard towers that's 50 yards away from the City of Riften.

I left that quest, thinking it was bugged as I couldn't find him. When I found the option to track specific locations, I was able to find him - and then subsequently spit and swear at Bethesda for bad descriptions.

I remember many Warcraft quests I've done in Vanilla when we didn't have quest tracking. Reading the directions to where to find things from the NPCs sent me exactly where the item/enemies weren't. Where they say "north-West" from XYZ town, they meant "Directly north from where you're standing - and ignore the town we mentioned."

So far they're doing the Skyrim Compas - and that's good... allows players to explore and just give general road-signs saying "Interesting spot is this direction!"
