Should I put off autosave?

I heard it helps against certain issues.
I just had to clear my ps3 system, so I had to reinstall Skyrim and Dragonborn.
But still, the game might freeze in the loading screen again, and then I could have that awkward moment that I did not save for three hours.

So yeah, I'm torn.

You may want to change your sig:

"PS3 player on Skyrim, and unsure if enjoying it"

No I'm still enjoying it. It takes more to piss me off. I do not get angry when a certain error appears, aslong as it doesn't happen all the time. (And it doesn't.)
I had this when I bought Skyrim in the beginning aswell, eventually it stopped.

disable all autosaves and manually save every so often. I do it ever 20 -30 mins or before and/or right after i do something important or challenging that I would not want to have to do again. I disabled all my autosaves and i clear the system cache once a day, been doing this since DG and the game does play alot better.
If you just dont trust yourself to save then enable it to save every 10,15 or 20 mins when opening the character menu. By just having this type of autosave activated and clearing the system cache every so often it also seems to make an improvement.
I play Xbox btw

I don't have PS3 version, but in past Bethesda games it was beneficial to turn off autosave as it would help ensure long term save stability.
