More DLC before PS4 and Xbox 720 release?

Post » Fri Feb 22, 2013 4:12 am

With Sony announcing yesterday that the PS4 will hit the shelves later this year. I'm pretty sure microsoft will follow suit with their next generation console. I think it's fairly safe to assume that Fallout 4 will be one of the major launch games and will not be released on the current consoles especially as the new versions will not be "backward compatible".
This makes me think that there must be more Skyrim DLC coming in the interim period, would you agree?

Maybe, maybe not. Bethesda announced earlier this year that they were not finished releasing Skyrim content, but the announcement was so vague that it meant almost nothing. They're not exactly the best at communicating with us.

At any rate, they certainly won't announce anything about new DLC until everything is released on PS3 and they're fairly certain there are no major problems that affect a huge number of PS3 owners.

Sony announced launch before Microshaft? That's surprising.

On a more related note, it's a possibility that Beth will release more content seeing as how everything they've currently released as been quite successful.

The PS3 users should have all DLC available to them by the end of February and the PS4 launch is supposedly happening in November in the US and Japan. Microsoft will undoubtedly do the same which leaves Betheasda 9 months in between. They must release something I would have thought in that time.

I have a feeling Fallout 4 will be a launch title and just in time for xmas, Bethesda would be silly to miss an oppotunity to totally clean up.

There's no way they'd be able to put Fallout 4 together that quickly. I don't expect it any earlier than late 2014, and probably into 2015.

Yeah, in late 2013 it's been two years since the launch of Skyrim. They won't be able to make a good Fallout 4 game in just 2 years. Fallout 3 took 2.5 years, and that's the shortest big world game development they ever had, but I expect the Fallout 4 development to be about a year longer being a new console generation and all.

And while it would be nice to see more Skyrim DLCs, I wouldn't bet on it. The last DLC for the Bethesda games generally been an landmass DLC, which Dragonborn was with Solstheim. I do hope we get more Skyrim DLCs though :)

I remember reading somewhere way back when Skyrim just released that Bethesda said they planned to make 5 DLCs 3 small 2 big if that's true then two more DLC are on the way.
