I've gotten through most of the main quest, and am going back to start up the Thieves' Guild quests. I started the chance quest close to the start of the game, and did cornered rat when the main quest got to it. But now as i try to go back to the other quests, Brynjolf just says "hmm". I have seen some fixes for if we will talk to you, but not goto the Flagon. This is not the case, because nothing ever comes up. I have tried using commands to respawn him, non essential, kill, and resurrect him; skip that quest and progress; basically everything. I have skyrim in steam, and have the unofficial patch installed to fix some bugs. I think it's completely unreasonable that Bethesda can still have major game breaking bugs a year and a half after the game was released. Reverting to an older save is not possible because that would mean reverting back 40 hours of gameplay. I'm posting here to see if i can get some support from Bethesda after scouring the internet for an entire day trying to find anything. I did find one YouTube video that did not work, www DOT youtube DOT com/watch?v=_sesfiMA_TQ . I have bought Bethesda games in the past and haven't had problems, so I still have faith in you. Just don't prove me wrong.
