How will the first and third-person perspectives differ from mainline Elder Scrolls games to better suit an MMO?
"We are still working on this system, but as it stands right now, we have first and third person support, just like in any other Elder Scrolls game. The only difference is that you don't see your hands and weapons in first-person mode.

... and rage was had at this news, we all saw it. However, that whole thing with "you don't see your hands nor weapons" stuck to me. I understand that it looks immensely better if you have designated animations for First-Person View. But merely letting everything fade out when you zoom into FPV, not only is it hideous, but it also seemed silly to me. You could get a great level of immersion (with weapons visible) if you instead improved the camera when it's in your face. There-as, I dusted off my old 3D-modeling "skills" to show you what I mean. ... I do warn you though, I'm not good. At all.

So first I rendered it from the Third-person view (sort of to the side, as we've seen in most gameplay videos), and afterwards I slammed the camera into his face and re-rendered. Now it's the same scene, and I arranged it to look "alright" from a third-person perspective, but then I tried it from the first-person and I was surprisingly pleased. Even though it's terribly made (actually that's the first time I've done an animation - the more you know).
My point being, I think they could get away with a "cheap" version of FPV like this until they make a dedicated set of animations for it. If that ever happens...
What do you guys think?
(I will now take all badmouth-talk for my poor animating.)
