I ask because of a presentation I am giving tomorrow morning and I believe one of my figures are wrong. I believed (for what ever reason) that they had over 9000 stores worldwide in 2004, and now in 2013 they only have 520 stores. This confuses because if this is the case, the store closures that happened per year were minimal compared to the total number still in operation. (Or prehaps the figures for total stores in 2013 I was looking at were country specific only, as the reference material I was using to obtain these figures was the BBC)

2010 - 960 stores were closed
2011 - 425 stores were closed
2012 - 500 stores were closed

This equals 1885 stores in total, so what happened to the additional 6715 stores? : /

If anyone could give me maybe the correct figure or estimated closest figure I would greatly appreciate it.
