Is Savior's Hide worth it?

Post » Mon Feb 25, 2013 5:55 pm

I have a 2h/light armour Nord warrior (barbarian if you like, thogh he uses a bow, sometimes sneaks, and weighs his matchups carefully before rushing into battle).

He wears tempered scaled armour at lvl 36. I don't enchant my own gear... yet. It's my way of making sure I love loot (enchanting + smithing sorta makes loot worthless). I have the Lord Stone blessing, am one step away from becoming an Agent of Mara, have scaled boots (found in loot) that have 40% resistance to Frost (+ the 50% race bonus makes me 90% resistant). Seeing that mages (and dragons sometimes) are my toughest foes (aside from Frost mages... hehe), do you think getting the Savior's Hide would be good for stacking my magic resistance? My dilemma comes from it being roughly the equivalent of leather in armour rating, which is lower than my current scaled armour.

I am hitting both sides of the Smithing tree to get the Ebony perk that will allow me to temper it to Legendary (I think), but not sure how it's armour rating will save my hide (pun) at higher levels. Anyone have any comments?
