When running Rage 64-bit or the Tool Kit, you may experience some performance issues after about 15 minutes of play. If this issue occurs, you can go into your Steam install directory (Usually “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam”) and remove or rename the ‘GameOverlayRenderer64.dll’. This will cause the Steam overlay not to work while in-game, but the performance drops should no longer happen. Do not restart Steam after you remove this file, because Steam will simply replace it. The team at id Software is working with Valve to find a solution to this problem.
