Errors on Startup - Could I get some pointers? : V

I've never made a mod but have been watching the official guide videos for the Creation Kit. I just downloaded a fresh install of the CK.

I choose File =&--#62; Data and select only Skyrim.esm. When I do so I get tons of errors. Most of them look like these ones, but I'm unsure if you'd need me to type out every one of them:

MASTERFILE: NavmeshInfo 00028e37 has no parent space, ignoring.

MASTERFILE: Errors were encountered during InitItem for reference:

Like I mentioned this is a fresh install so I'm unsure what to do since I can't even seem to get the program started without these errors and the subsequent crash. Any ideas?

Also, my main goal is to make some modifications/additions to the Hearthfire houses. Should I be loading HearthFires.esm as well?
