Vet character or newbie character to start here?

Just downloaded the 2 fighting DLCs. Looking for opinions: More beneficial to use a veteran or a new character? I have a Light-Armor Redguard who loves archery and Destruction (L 52) and a Khajit mage
who also loves the "Big D" (L 43).
But, I was thinking maybe a new character with only a level or two or three might be fun. What have some of you found? Better to start low and collect various new--but low-- weapons, or go in
with a Veteran and pick up higher level weapons?
Is there a difference?

Maybe play the DLCs with one of the developed characters first. Then you'll have an idea how to develop your need character.

Good advice. Will try that in Dragonborn.
