Hello, I have one minor complaint about the Skyrim Creation Kit that I'm hoping one of you can resolve. The problem is that whenever I click on something in one menu, then in another (EG when I click on the cell window, and then the Object Window) I hear and ear piercing beeping sound coming out of my speakers.

I have no idea what could be the cause of this, I think that I also had this problem with TESIV Creation Kit as well. I understand that I can just mute my headphones, but often times when I'm using the Creation Kit I like to actually speak to people online or listen to music.

I'll also reiterate the problem since I know that this could probably sound confusing. The problem is that whenever I click on an item in one menu (for example clicking on a chair in the cell window) and then I switch to another window and click on something else (for example a door in the Object Window) it makes an extremely loud beeping sound, which I believe is one of the sounds from the Vista OS itself.

If anyone has any advice on what I could do to fix this, please let me know. It can get really irritating when every 2 seconds I I twitch and lose focus because of this dang noise.

I'm not sure what's making the beep, but I'm assuming it's the windows error beep. You can change this sound file to a less annoying one, or mute it (of course that will mean you won't have the noise alerting you to other problems you have in windows.

Look in control panel for the options to change sounds. Not having Vista, I can't walk you through it, but common sense should be enough if you read what's being presented to you. There is always the "cancel" button if you make a mistake to don't be afraid to experiment.

Yeah the beeping happens a lot as you do things (even unharmful things) in the CK. It has also been this way with Oblivion's Construction Set, Fallout's GECK, etc...

It's a known issue on Windows Vista+. Follow the instructions in this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/944150to fix it.

Just created an account to be able to search for this minor but extremely irritating problem. Seems I'm not a unique snowflake with this very odd issue. Error beep on most option selections within the editor. Vista 64 system.
