Green Arrow Comics

Where should I start? I can't figure out where the start of the series is. I'd like to buy one book that is a compilation of some of the comics. I have heard a lot of bad things about New 52, but is it really that bad? I have Green Lantern Rebirth, and Secret origin. Is that new 52? I like Geoff Johns style. Would Green Arrow Vol. 1:The Midas Touch be a good place to start? I'd like his origin story series first of course, I want to be able to read them in order. What is Green Arrow:Year One?

I'm very ambivalent about the new 52. Some of the changes they made seem strange and pointless. Plus they abandoned a lot of ongoing storylines when they made the switch (Although the main batman series of comics and Green lanterns seem to be untouched, just renumbered)

Not liking most of the new setups at all.

As for Green Arrow, if you can find them, a lot of the earlier series were very good, right up to the new 52 relaunch. Quiver (The Green Arrow equivalent of Rebirtth is one of my favs)

If you haven't read any comics in say 10-15 years then The New 52 is a good place to start. That's where I started. I don't read The Green Arrow but I do read Arrow which is based off the tv show.

Like I said if you haven't read any comics in a good long while then the New 52 is a good place to start. It's whe. You start mixing generations that the complaints come from. The Green Arrow Midas Touch is a good jumping off point, it covers issues 1-7; I beleive, then it's just a matter of catching up.
