It's...not really much of a boycott if you still buy their products, even if they're old and not at full price. And I don't know how well of a message you're passing if you buy the ultimate edition of a game that itself had some really obnoxious DLC practices. For a boycott to have meaning, you really got to stick to your guns. It's easy to carry out when no products you like are being made, but it proves your devotion when you pass up on things you actually would get otherwise. I'd like to say that I was on an EA boycott...but in reality, their practices mean they just don't make anything that appeals to me anymore.
Now, at the very least, by buying DAO, you could certainly be sending a message to Bioware and EA that this is the kind of game they should be making. Unfortunately, it'll fall on deaf ears; 4 million copies and rave reviews, and we still got Dragon Age II.
