If this thread already exists I am sorry for the overpost. Please post a link to the appropros thread and report this one as spam.

I want to be a Dark Elf Lightning mage.

My intended role would be ranged dps using staves primarily. My primary build Would be built around maxxing out as much dps as I could weighted against my ability as a player and what I feel is most efficient in terms of playstyle.

If I can build a dodge tank build for my offspec I wouldn't mind going tank as well, prefering either a one hand sword and a shield, a one hand sword and a ward, or dual weilding one hand swords.

My armor type would be dependant on the pro's and cons of the individual armor types. If I can wear a full set of plate armor and be within ten % of the gains of wearing a set of cloth armor or leather armor I'd probably wear the plate armor. Though I wouldn't mind going leather or cloth if I had to as I think wearing a suit or armor irl isn't something I think I'd eva do :P

There's lots of threads like this.

For me this comes down to the options. If I can buff invisibility and silence before going out healing I will go down the path of Illusion and Restoration. In combat, I'm hoping the illusory attacks will be sufficient to disorient and confuse enemies while boosting allies in relative safety from the rear, but we will see.

Against single enemies and in single player this may not be feasible, a weakness I hope is identified in Beta if it's the case. NPC companions may provide a solution here for the healer, but the question will be the cost in terms of change of pace and experience gain. There's lots of ways to address it, but again, something that needs to be tested thoroughly.

My current plan for my first/main character:
-Male Khajiit
-Combination of light and medium armor
-Polearm-style weapon if available, staff or 2h weapon if not
-Shaman/Battlemage playstyle, using mostly short-range spells and wards to supplement melee combat
-Focus on avoidance/dodge tanking when under attack, due to the lighter armor

For my alt/secondary character, it'll probably be:
-Female Khajiit
-Light Armor
-Staff or daggers
-Heavy focus on conjuration spells, if available - necromancer or summoner playstyle

So wait you are using the custom class system (as we all hope it's designed) to dedicate a primary spec built around support of other players? I mean majorally that's all healers ever were when you just sit down and think about it but aren't you worried that depending on the encounter this approach might gimp you? I guess you can just rebuild in that sitaution since it would be irregular I guess.

I kinda hope that's how they build it though. I have a healer friend who mentioned they wanted to be healer/stealth/archer hybrid as well. I think alot of primary healers would probably go the route of whole support for PvE group play.

breton heavy armor spellsword - that really honestly depends SO much on how professions like enchanting are going to work, though... while my magic comes up I rely pretty heavily on enchanting my weapons and making the hike to the steed stone... I may end up going for an orc illusion/restoration mage and just planning on being really squishy until my friends can level to catch up to me.
