Spoiler

PS4 and Xbox 720 titles will cost $70 at launch. That’s the claim of Wedbush Morgan anolyst Michael Pachter, who gave a lecture at the SXSW conference on Saturday.
Pachter’s discussion also saw him crown Xbox 720 as the winner of next-gen, before it has even been revealed. Check out why he said that here:
American game writer Geoff Keighly was live tweeting from the event, and dropped this little nugget on his feed:
"PS4 and Next xbox games will likely cost 70 dollars, 10 more than current gen"
If true this would place next-gen games at ten dollars higher than they are currently, something that may come as a concern to those already disgruntled at the $60 benchmark. Meanwhile, PC games just seem to get cheaper and cheaper, thanks to Steam’s often-insane sales and the like.

What do you think?

I live in Norway, and new current generation games already cost 105$...

Another reason not to buy a next gen console. They seem to be saying "likely", so I'll wait to hear something confirmed, but I'm already planning a move to PC gaming. So whatever.

Why do people still listen to Pachter? He's usually dead wrong.

Agreed.. But he must've heard it from somebody.. http://www.vg247.com/2013/03/10/pachter-picks-microsoft-to-win-next-console-generation/ .. Well he said Nintendo is on shaky ground when they are clearly not.. They probably made the most money copared to sony and microsoft.. Sony and Microsoft charged less than their consoles were worth for awhile, Nintendo never did that..

Pretty misleading title. It's a prediction and the title makes it come across as fact.

I think people really need to stop pretending these rumor hold any water. At this point all that is happening is the spreading of false rumors. And for what? So we can act like we know something when we actually don't. Patcher has been wrong before and I wouldn't be shocked if he is wrong again. I also wouldn't be completely shocked if he was right. It doesn't matter though, these rumors are exactly that, rumors. Until we hear official information I think it's best to stop speculating. All it does is make the less informed gamers, who don't keep up with the industry as much, believe in things that are untrue.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I could of sworn a handful of PS3 games were $70 when the PS3 was still young. I may be thinking of something else

This as well. The same thing happened with the "Stem Box" thread costing $1,000 on release, when the article wasn't actually referring to Valve's Steam Box. What followed where several people actually believe it was referring to Valve's product.

The title is rather long at the moment.. Perhaps I should have put may in the first sentence of the title.. But my Original Post was rather simple, so take some time to read what is written
