Smithing and alchemy are both leveled quicker by high value.

i would like Enchanting to do the same.

it takes about 325 Smithing enchanted rings to get to level 100.

I am OK with the way it is now. As it stands, you gain the same amount of XPs no matter the size of gem used or the enchantment. That makes the abundance of petty soul gems more viable.
