Hello folks.

I recently got this game off Steam after hearing about it from a friend of mine. I understand that it was released a few years ago so I sort of missed the boat with this thread but I thought I should make one simply because of how great the game is. Now I'm not much of a gamer but still, this has to be one of the best games (and probably the best RPG) I've ever played. The game is set in modern LA, California and plays out a lot like a gangster game... well... except with vampires. What makes it interesting is that unlike with most RPGs I've seen where you're the hero who saves the world, here you play a guy/girl that's just trying to survive and figure things out in a strange new world you've been dropped into. Even though the melee combat system is banol, the gunfights are still fun and it's all augmented by the different ways you can use certain powers (which are unique to the type of vampire you choose to play as). That is of course, if you even choose combat because the game has several ways to solve many situations; through combat, sneaking, seduction etc. so you can make a combat oriented character, a more typical vampire seducer or even one skilled in lockpicking and hacking (the inclusion of in-game computers is another thing that makes the game unusual). Anyway I'd recommend it to anybody who enjoys a somewhat more old-fashioned RPG and for those of you who played it, I'm wondering if you liked it as much as I did?

Yes! It's one of my favorite games. I still replay it about once a year. You have to try playing as a Malkavian at least once.

This. One of the best games ever made. Malkavains are great to play but you should play another vampire type before a Malk just to see how the game changes slightly when you're a Malk.
