I'm not trying to say this should be part of the game, but how would everyone feel if they instituted a type of marriage or partnership thing into the game? It wouldn't have to be a big deal at all, I can just see it being fairly amusing thing to do! I'd prefer that if there were any bonuses, they were very small ones like getting a tiny boost to health or stamina regen for example, nothing ridiculous like the current gold gifts you find in Skyrim. Obviously the entire thing would require both players to take part. Considering most players will be men and they won't probably want to marry other men, I can't see this being a problem where everyone gets married and hence removes its significance. It does make sense from a lore perspective anyway.

MMOs have people getting "married" in em whether or not there's an in-game mechanic for it, so why not?

As for men not wanting to marry other men... if you're talking about male PLAYERS, as opposed to characters, I could tell you stories of gender experimentation in MMOs... and if folks are role-playing, who cares?

If they do have it, though, I hope they support every flavor -- male-male, male-female, female-female with no race barriers. No reason to leave anybody out. Was very annoyed in Skyrim that I couldn't find a Khajiit husband

Meh, I've seen it happen. Once you introduce bonuses for married couples, people will marry just to get these bonuses, even if it's their best buddy.

I'm all for more social features like this, but once you incorporate it into the game mechanics, it tends to get abused.
