This gotta be the most [censored] annoying glitch for me. followers always seem to spawn a hunting bow out of their ass and start using it, No matter what type of gear i give them..

Its not just the housecarls, every single follower i recruit does this [censored].

I was walking with vilkas today in solstheim and suddenly two mages pops out of no where and start attacking us, Vilkas as usual pulls out his bow and his iron arrows, and starts firing at them. of course he misses all the shots and does zero damage to them, meanwhile i get my ass kicked by their fire balls.

i know this isn't a new bug, but i searched and none of the solutions i found worked for me. so is there anything i can do? or is having a follower is useless?

That glitch gets everyone. What I usually do is I'll mess with their inventory every once in awhile and it tends to keep that glitch at bay but sometimes....
Might have to forgo that companion.

What's really annoying about this is characters that have better bows tend to pull out a hunting bow out of nowhere.

Even more annoying, MAGES will pull a bow out and use it instead of relying on their magic.

It isn't a glitch, that is their default weapon and ammo if they don't have any other weapons at the time.

What makes me pissed is that it didn't used to happen with my other character, but maybe its because i never really used followers back then, i dunno.

BTW, didn't mean to post this in the spoilers section.

@Blade, im 100% this is a glitch, i gave them other weapons that fits their skills, and they still tend to use the bow. i also tried not not to mess with their inventory at all, so their gear will remain the same. no luck.
