Suggestion: AvA Command Options

Post » Thu Mar 21, 2013 2:27 am

This idea is inspired by a great game (imo) called Spell Force - a combination of strategy and RPG.

I suppose there will be raid groups and sub groups for AvA leaders to keep track of their soldiers. They should make it so Commanders can divide their raid into smaller groups or even select individual players and place waypoints for them without having to open the map. It would be like playing a strategy game, except players of course can choose whether to obey. It would ease up commanding a larger group and there would be less commotion on vent/tspeak.

P.S. Note that when I say Commander I don't necessarily mean a Commander title like in GW2, it could be just a guy who rallies a lot of people at his call or a guild leader.

Edit: Before you say "But that would force Commanders to constantly look at their interface", well yes, that's what they do anyway - focus on the broader picture, constantly open and close the map, think ahead so we don't have to etc. Not everyone can or should do that type of job.

How is it immersion breaking :P IRL your commander could just say "go there" and point to a place, he wouldn't have to be like "ok Mitlandir, go to the left wall"..... "what wall???" "left wall.... Mitlandir" "my left or your left....?" "LEFT WALL! LEFT!"

Well those people are just... I'm not even gonna say it. Basically one could argue that having to press a button in order for your character to move is immersion breaking... No one's forcing them to use it, as a matter of fact people like THAT should NEVER use it, i.e. be raid leaders.
