I hooked my son's computer up to the network and set up file sharing. I also setup the printer but, when I go to print a page from either my son's computer or my computer it doesn't print. In fact even though I've sent documents to the printer it says, "No pending Documents".

Does anyone smarter than me know what the hell is going on?

So is it a wireless printer? Fairly new?

Not wireless. It is fairly new though. I can see the shared printer from my son's computer as well as mine. It's connected to my computer via a USB cable. I can't even print from my computer either.

The laptop is irrelevant. It won't work until the printer works locally on your PC.

How did you install the driver for the printer? Was there an option to print a test page during setup? DId that work?

When you print a test page from the printer settings, does that work?

Are you making sure to select the right printer?

Is there a yellow exclamation mark and/or the printer faded in the printer control panel?

Gah! Just saw Defron's post. My skills with network stuff are amateurish at best compared to Def's.
