This is however my opinion, but the first G.I. Joe movie that came out a few years ago was just absolutely horrible. I was actually shocked that they some how got away with creating a movie of such low caliber these days, and even got to put it into theaters. This is something I'd expect to be like a SyFy original movie or something. It was so poorly done and everything about it was just super cheesy.
If the entire movie wasn't bad enough, the ending completely blew me away with the amount of absurd stupidity. They must have expected their demographic of moviegoers to be below the age of 13 with what they did. If you haven't seen the movie it really doesn't matter because I'm not spoiling anything of any real worth here. So the "team" learned that enemy base was beneath the polar ice cap. They wanted to destroy the entire base so someone yells "let's blow the ice cap". So they blew up the ice cap and the chunks of ice sank into the water and crushed all portions of the enemy base. Now this would be all wonderful except anyone who read a science book in the fourth grade learned that ice floats. What the serious [censored]?
I know the first movie is a few years old but the new one comes out soon and I figured this would give me the opportunity to discuss the original as well since I never really had a chance when it released. If the first movie is any indication of how the second will go, it will be an utter abortion of modern-day movie making.
Please discuss.
