PvP System failure!

Post » Wed Mar 27, 2013 3:05 pm

i was so excite to hear about this project!,i played Elder scrolls frome the first games and enjoyed every moment of it.
I am mmorpg fan and have over 10 years of experience in mmo games!
One important thing i learned, even if you a Pve player, the pvp aspect of the game is crucial for its success!

When i heard about ESO,the first thing i did is to check the pvp system of this game, and AGAIN i was so disappointed!!
No real PVP system applied in this game,No 1 on 1 open world pvps, instead the same wrong pvp system like in GW2 applied to this game!
Boring 100 on 100 no skill needed sieges will act like a "pvp",swing a sword at every direction and you will hit somthing,no 1 on 1 tactics, just "spray and pray"...and the most "not smart" idea is to restrict you to some piece of land to fight where everyone is "Equal" because everyone get level 50 instantly, most idiotic idea i ever heard!
Sadly this game wont last more than 2 years...i just wonder why the devs dont take the pvp aspect seriously.
Here is some material for thinking for you devs!,ask yourself how Lineage 2 still alive, and alot of people still play it even after more than 10 years it was released!!?
Yes the pvp system! so close to be perfect!,tons of fun! never get boring!
So my question is why?? why kill the game before it got out!

Welcome to the forums.

It's... a bit premature to pass judgment on something before you try it, isn't it? The devs seem to be taking PVP very seriously, and just because one game did something badly doesn't mean it can't be done well. People seem to agree that DAoC did it very well, and that seems to be the primary influence here, not GW2. Hold off on the predictions of doom and gloom.

I really hope they will implement a 1 on 1 pvp system!
And option to duel people in the open world,it will definitely improve the game!

As long as there is a setting to automatically decline duels (as well as group and guild invites), I have no problem with that.

Personally, a PvP system like ESO's AvA (similar to GW2's WvW and DAoC's RvR) is the ONLY kind of PvP I enjoy and would participate in. I'm far from alone in that sentiment, as well.

DAoC had plenty of 1 on 1 pvp going on, and so will ESO.

The sheer scale of the pvp area, which in ESO will be Cyrodiil and the size of the entire ES game Oblivion will ensure that players have plenty of options not only to explore and PvE in the pvp area, but also to seek out 1 on 1 pvp fights. This happened a lot in DAoC, and I see no reason why it should not be a very good possibility in ESO as well. Sure, the risk of running into an enemy group or even zerg is there, but hey, that only adds to the challenge and the excitement. Mainly stealthers were successful in seeking out those 1 on 1 pvp encounters in DAoC, but with some experience and knowledge of the pvp zone other classes can do it as well.

Be open minded, and don't judge the game until you have tried it. Trust me pvp in ESO will be very much different from the GW2 WvW.
