Levelling up alternatives to combat?

Post » Fri Mar 29, 2013 7:49 am

Will we be able to level up using crafting instead of entirely combat? Say I wanted to make a travelling craftsman, would I be able to go to other parts of the land to gather resources and make them and level up?

It would be cool if say someone is an expert in crafting, but has no combat experience, they could "hire" a bunch of friends (who are skilled in combat) to take them from one area to another and protect the craftsman.

SWTOR levelling up is just a grind. Literally. I space barred through most of the story. I wanted to play a game, not watch a movie.

The devs did say you get exp from crafting exploring etc but not sure if it would be enough to level up to the max level.

Levelling up means you get increased strength, logically , crafter must not get the strength of an fighter in that case.
You will be able to level up but i dont know how much
Actually, the only thing i loved about SWTOR was the levelling up. Story was nice.

It should be feasible.

The craft skills are separate from combat ones and use different point pools (I wish they didn't) but all you really get from levels is a point to spend on attributes (health / stamina / magicka) and abilities. I can't see any harm in allowing players to earn those just from crafting.

Levelling with smithing/enchanting is quite more effective.
