Bethesda Games: Whats the deal with the cannibalism?

Post » Sun Mar 31, 2013 1:31 pm

Note: I couldnt figure out where to post this as it applies to more than one game.

Anyway, I noticed this and its weird. Starting with Fallout 3, the major bethesda games have been on this...cannibal kick. I find it strange. In Fallout 3 its there, and thats really its first appearance. Its there in New Vegas as well, through a different mechanism. And its there in Skyrim too! And in all of the games, it has the same effect.

So I just have to wonder..what's that about? Its oddly specific. Of all the recurring themes they couldve used, where did this one pop out of? Sorry, I know this is a strange question but I just can't let it go. Its *weird!*

Cannibilism has been in the Elder Scrolls lore since like Redguard came out in 1998.

Also, New Vegas isn't a Bethesda game, its an Obsidian game, and Cannibalism has been in Fallout since Fallout 1, though not as a perk, you find out that the iguanas on a stick sold in one area use human flesh.
