Twitch.tv guy fakes disability for donations

Post » Sun Apr 07, 2013 11:22 am

Hahah, guys, I've been laughing for what must be five minutes now. Just when I think the mirth has subsided, more comes.

A bearded man in a wheelchair who has been playing video games live over the internet for the past two years http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_N5gixJ2X8M. Clearly, this is nothing short of a late Easter miracle. The female voice in the video is his un-paralyzed girlfriend who seems to be surprised by his getting up and walking, but immediately goes on to reminisce about a strange story involving their dog and a fish store. The man in question, Angel Hamilton, left his webcam on in his twitch channel and captured the miracle for all to see. His twitch.tv channel (http://www.twitch.tv/zilianOP) has since been closed, most likely due to his ability to now go out and enjoy the outside world. Over the months as he was streaming on twitch.tv Angel was able to solicit over $20,000 in donations and stream earnings. These donations were used to purchase many items seen on his stream including electronics, a $2,000+ wheelchair and $5,000 to move across the country to live near his girlfriend (Panthoria).

Oh, I think the schadenfreude's gone. Aww. Well, that was a good five minutes.

Edit: no, it's back! Hahah. This is just so absurd!

I'm legit disabled and can prove it by taking my leg off and throwing it at the audience.

Where's my $20,000 in donations to play vidja gaems? C'mon people, get to it. Pity me.

Honestly, if he never SAID he was disabled, he's done no wrong for taking money from people making assumptions. /greymorality

Can't confirm, didn't even know about this guy until this, but apparently he's stated that he, his girlfriend, and his mother are all disabled. The gall.

Well, there are disability kinks, so ...
