Max ppl living in your Hearthfire home

Post » Tue Apr 09, 2013 5:28 pm

What is the maximum number of people and animals allowed to live/stay in your Hearthfire house?

Currently I have my Housecarl, Wife, Steward, two kids, Bard, Carriage Driver and two dogs. Thats nine ppl not including myself. Can I get more ppl/animals to stay? (no summoning/conjuring)

Also is it possible for the kids to bring home a sabrecat or is that not one of the animals programmed to come home with children?

Couldn't tell you. Ridiculous load times, kidnapping, robbery, constant attacks, skevers infestations & lack of merchant proximity make the Heathfire houses unlivable, IMHO. I just use them to display non-unique items I want to keep.

if you get married, your spouse will become a merchant, and this also makes it even easier to store the stuff you want to keep before selling anything imo :D

Dude, I can deplete a merchant's default 750 gold w/ about 5 potions. Add my expertise in the art of looting (weight justifying worth) and I need a lot more than 1 merchant. Regardless, the houses could be perfect (which they're not, far from it) & I still wouldn't live there because of their load times & the more stuff you have in those houses, the longer the load times are. Plus, I consider Severin Manor the best house in the game, so it's moot.

You can also have a purchased horse for the house, plus Frost and Shadowmere, and all 3 will defend the house. Although Shadowmere has now been changed to reset to the Falkreath Sanctuary if you are away from your house for more than 10 days (not happy!). You can have your follower wait at your house as well, and I have one home that has had the Skeever infestation twice, so I have 2 sammys in the basemant. There's also the cow and 2 chickens, but I am guessing these don't matter.

I would love to have a menagerie of Chaurus, spiders, horses, Elk, slaughterfish, sabrecats, bears, dogs, rabbits, wolves, foxes, cows, goats, chickens, Deer, Horkers, Mammoths, Mudcrabs, Skeevers, trolls, a dragon who would agree to help guard it, a pack of werewolves, a coven of Hagraven, and a clan of vampires, along with a damn group of giants to help the dragon guard things.

Unless I'm mistaken, your housecarl w/ remain at the Jarl's Longhouse unless you make them the steward. And you forgot bard...
