So I was going to change my avatar to my Skyrim Ranger character using this picture:

I know I've seen others with more elongated avatars, but I can' seem to get it to work. I've tried uploading it, I've tried importing it from the above link, but nothing seems to work. I keep getting a failed message.

Any help?

Maybe it's cause it's a png? (I have no idea but you could try opening it up with MS Paint and "save it as" a jpg file.)

Make sure it abides by the limits of dimensions and file size. Since it's a png, its file size is increased by quite a bit. Also... Bear in mind that your profile picture won't change immediately, it will take some time. Good luck.

I actually tried that, but then the thing came up as a blank square.

I mean, it technically uploaded, but there was just nothing there...

I don't see any dimension or size limits, only something that says "Recommend an image 200px or larger" but nothing else.

The links seem the same to me. When I do it that way, I don't get the error message, per se, just a red "box" and no image change.

I've tried uploading bmp, jpg, gif, and png from the PC, and linking from url for jpg and png.

It might be the dimensions, as I can change back and forth with smaller pics. I just need to know what the max dimensions are.

Aha! A little help from a mysterious stranger did the trick!

I'm guess it was the dimensions? Now I just need to figure out if I should try different aspects to show more detail...
