Remember Me?

I want to know what CD thinks of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tN2sANZ9UhU.

http://i.imgur.com/vuStAyY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/lYCSLvS.jpg. I kind of like the character, too. She's different enough from the usual fare that I'll enjoy directing her through a world.

For examples of the gameplay, there are videos ("Memory trailer" and "10 minutes of gameplay footage"- can't link. ). I'm really impressed with how it's supposed to work, but I don't know if they'll manage to pull it off. Combat also looks a bit "janky", but I'm willing to play through it for everything else it apparently offers.

It reminds me a lot of Bungie's Oni, actually.

Thoughts?

I'm interested. Not a day one buy, but I'll likely pick it up this year. The concept behind it is pretty interesting but I'm not all that interested in getting an action game anytime soon.

I'm currently downloading something, so I can't watch the trailer, but those screenshots... Oh my god. I absolutely love urban environments, and urban sci-fi environments (like the oriental city in Deus Ex: HR or City 17) are simply the best. Love it man, love it. Can't wait to watch the trailer.

Looks boring.

Can't put my finger on why it looks boring, just does.

Seems like it'll be yet another cinametic action-oriented game with a boring straight-gal protagonist and uninspiring sci-fi.

A bit too premature to base it just yet though but that's what I think of what I've seen so far.

And as it looks boring I don't really have any interest in looking up anything else about it.

I'll just let it pass me by like other mainstream cinematic titles does.

[edit]

I based ^ on the trailer alone and I was not premature, the gameplay video showed exactly what I thought it'd show, boring, action oriented, cinematic and linear-looking gameplay.

Like the concept, like the art design, good to have a female lead for some variety. Hope it isn't too combat heavy.

(Not really. Why is it sailing?) I'll be doing this, too. I can jump in at $30.

I'm normally not interested in this kind of game, either, but the setting and design are amazing, and it seems like the "cinema" will be at least above par. I'm willing to give this title a chance, which I've rarely done for other action-y, cinematic games. The last one I played (and enjoyed) was Mass Effect 2.

I don't see much interesting with the setting, it looks generic to me and the design feels... Cheap? Cliché? Bland?

It just feels like something copy pasted out of the last 5 years of sci-fi crap.

Like, if you had a box of sci-fi design then it feels like the developers rooted through that box.

More ranting unrelated to the quote:

Combat looks tedious and repetitive, that mind[censored] thing she does is going to get old real quick.

The orientation of gameplay (running around) feels extremeley boring; Jump off this railing, grab that pipe, climb that pipe, hop over to the other pipe.

That's not gameplay, it's a cutscene where you push buttons to make it continue.

The protagonist (at least what I've seen so far) seems like a boring generic straigh-gal that takes everything way too seriously.

I doubt I'd be able to relate to her or empathize with her, not sure I'd even want to.

As to the storyline, some gal was once with X and did Y but now Y has happened to her so she must find a way to either get back with X or do Y to a bunch of others and take down X. Oh and add in some "plot twist" somewhere after the half-way mark through the game. Not interesting to me.

So yeah, I either loathe, dislike or am indifferent about every aspect I've seen so far.
