Add to the list!! If nothing else please ditch the matchmaking in favor of a server list and dedicated servers!!! 360 players post here and show your support!!
Honestly Quake 4 was my least favorite of the series. I struggled to get all the way through it. Quite a painful time playing the game really. I did however pre-order the orignal, got a t-shirt. Bought it for PC, and for my 360. Twice for pc actually, had to get my buddy a copy too.
Not that I'm complaining because I absolutely love Quake, but why exactly is the game being re-released? Is it actually getting a visual upgrade? I'm interesting in finding out what changes to matchmaking, if any, will be put in place. Will there be matchmaking? A big question that I know is on a lot of gamer's minds who are seeking the ever so elusive Number One and Number 10 achievements, "Will the leaderboards be reset finally?".
There hasnt been any official details as to what, if anything has been fixed at all. Personally I think that Matchmaking is what killed the Q4 community. No one wants to sit in a Matchmaking room by themselves waiting for someone else to hopefully join the same setting as your playing. If they had just stuck with Server list's based on Gametype then it would have been much easier to get into a game with people who are still playing the game. As for the Leaderboards I'm also hoping that they will be reset as well, because that will give all these new players a reason to keep playing. There HAS to be something new to this version because they cant go and ask us to pay $20 if it just going to be the exact same game we can get used for $5.
John Carmack did not like the way Quake 4 went either. He was upset that the multiplayer wasn't really up to par, and he did not really like the campaign either. I thought that it was good, in my own opinion.
This is the first I am hearing of Quake 4 being re-released, I know that Doom 3 is being remastered and re-released, but quake 4? Really?. Is everything that uses the Id tech 4 engine being re-released????!!!!!
As long as it s not a new version that has bugs, glitches, xbox freezes framerate problems, Multiplayer problems fixed, and also the yet promised but never delivered DLC on it, its not worth a single penny. Noone should buy it and let Bethesda make a single penny more with this game as long as it isnt fixed.
I orinally played QUAKE4 on the PC, enjoyed it a lot. I was cautious about renting it for the 360 a couple years later to give it another go, because I heard it ran real bad on the 360. One day I did, and to my surprise, it ran pretty good to me. Weird.
